EverTrue Honors Seven Individuals with Ageless Remarkable Award
As a leader in aging services, EverTrue recognizes older adults
making significant impacts in St. Louis communities
July 24, 2026 (St. Louis) –EverTrue, a leading nonprofit provider of aging services, has recognized seven older adults whose leadership, volunteerism and philanthropy continue to make an exceptional impact in the region. These remarkable older adults exemplify purposeful aging – giving their time, talent and leadership to strengthen our community.
“The Ageless Remarkable recognition honors more than a single moment – it reflects a lifetime of commitment, compassion, perseverance and service from individuals as diverse as the region they support,” said Adam Marles, president and CEO of EverTrue. “EverTrue is excited to champion the contributions of these seven older adults who are leading and shaping our communities in meaningful ways, while also showcasing how EverTrue supports individuals like our honorees as part of our nonprofit mission – older adults living life to the fullest.”
Ageless Remarkable recipients were announced at a special luncheon in June but will be formally recognized as part of the EverTrue Ageless Gala on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac.
Below is a list of the 2026 Ageless Remarkable Awardees:
Dr. James and Donna Knight
Dr. James and Donna Knight have operated a medical practice in North County for more than 45 years providing healthcare services to an underserved population and providing scholarships for medical and nursing students through their service in the Mound City Medical Forum and Auxiliary.
They are philanthropists who have served on many civic and community organizations including The Links, Incorporated, the Guardsmen and Heat Up St. Louis to name a few. They received a record-breaking 13 nominations for this award.
Rev. Dr. Dale Meyer
Rev. Dr. Dale Meyer’s voice, leadership and vision have reached beyond the Lutheran church he has served in very different positions throughout his career. As the president emeritus of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Dr. Meyer was integral to building the Seminary’s important mission. He continues to serve in retirement, writing a commentary on 1 Peter, speaking and writing articles on the intersection of biblical faith and culture, and serving as the interim pastor of a large church in the metro east. His leadership continues to be shared with various ministries and the church-at-large.
Evelyn Brandt Thomas
Evelyn Brandt Thomas, along with her brother Glen, founded Brandt Fertilizer more than 70 years ago and grew it from a backyard venture to an international company, where she continues to work as a passionate advocate for the future of agriculture, supporting youth and education initiatives and founding the Evelyn Brandt Thomas Ag Innovation Center to advance innovation in the field. Her philanthropy spans over organizations including Future Farmers of America, 4H, the Simmons Cancer Institute, and services for the visually impaired.
A resident of our EverTrue Concordia Village Life Plan Community, Evelyn also supports education through scholarships for EverTrue’s Concordia Village team members and at local colleges in their communities.
Dr. Karl Wilson
Dr. Karl Wison is a dedicated leader in behavior health and aging services. As the founding and presiding CEO of Crider Mental Health for over 33 years, his leadership was transformative, advancing community-based care at the intersection of aging and behavioral health. He also serves on the St. Louis City Senior Fund Boad of Directors, where he was a catalyst in its creation in 2016, advising the Seniors Count initiative that led to its establishment. He is a trusted advisor on systems-level and policy change, helping organizations navigate complexity with clarity and purpose.
Kathie and Richard Winter
Kathie and Richard Witner are a community minded couple who together created the Winter Family Collection, dedicated to making art accessible to all. Kathie has provided volunteer leadership across the St. Louis region, currently serving as immediate past president for Women of Achievement, previous president and current board member of St. Louis Arc, board president emerita of St. Louis Dance Theatre, and vice president of the board for Stray Dog Theatre. Richard is President of Garden View Care Centers, a locally owned and managed organization dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care for seniors. He serves on UMSL Missouri 100 Council and is a board member for Jazz St. Louis, Grand Center and Missouri Healthcare Association.

Past recipients have included philanthropists, volunteers, educators, business leaders, public figures, athletes and more who have inspired with their continued commitment to others.
