Five Retirement Satisfaction Boosts
While some people choose to continue their professional careers as residents of a Life Plan Community, for others, retirement opens doors to continue a life filled with purpose, joy and connection in other ways.
Chuck Forbes, a resident of EverTrue Mason Pointe in Town & Country, Mo., has found retirement satisfaction by embracing his past as a web developer to build meaningful retirement hobbies while giving back to others. Here are his top five retirement satisfaction boosts!
- Volunteer Your Skills – Chuck hosts movie nights, runs trivia events and manages tech platforms for some of his fellow EverTrue Mason Pointe residents. “It brightens their life—and it brightens mine,” he says.
- Explore New Hobbies in Retirement – From ceramics to guitar, Chuck has discovered talents he never knew he had by trying the classes and seminars that are shared with his community through both experts and by fellow residents.
- Stay Social – Enrichment groups and video-sharing keep Chuck – and his neighbors – connected and laughing.
- Use Your Voice – Join lifestyle committees, help plan events or lead discussions at the library. Venues around your community are looking for individuals with experience and education, plus sharing your background feels good.
- Cherish Time with Friends and Loved Ones – Book in a regular dinner with friends and loved ones. Invite them over to your community pools, golf courses or events. Keeping in touch with family and friends can help keep you focused on a life of love and laughter.
Chuck is a great example of living Life According to You! What does that look like for you?
